The Zaporizhzhia Chamber of Commerce and Industry has become a partner of UNDP in Ukraine within the framework of Phase III of the Swiss-Ukrainian project ‘Strengthening Business Associations of Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Ukraine’, which is being implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and with the support of the Swiss Government.

The main goal of the project is to strengthen the capacity of business associations representing micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as to create favourable conditions for the development of entrepreneurship in Ukraine.

As part of Phase III, the Zaporizhzhia CCI joined two coalitions: the ‘Network of Business Support Organisations for Ukraine’s European Integration’ and the ‘Women’s Business Support Platform’.

Their activities are aimed at developing entrepreneurship, supporting international partnerships, expanding export opportunities, introducing EU standards in business practices and strengthening an inclusive economy. This partnership opens up new tools for the Chamber to interact with business and allows it to expand support for its members at both the regional and national levels.

The presentation of Phase III of the Swiss-Ukrainian UNDP project aimed at further developing and strengthening the capacity of business associations of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises took place on 8 October in Kyiv. During the event, participants discussed the creation of an Alliance of Business Associations, joint decision-making mechanisms, and the Voluntary Standard for Business Association Membership. Special attention was paid to the UNDP training programme for business association leaders, as knowledge, strategic thinking and leadership development are the foundation of Ukrainian business sustainability.

The partnership with UNDP opens up new opportunities for the Zaporizhzhia CCI and its member companies, helps strengthen the region’s business position, improve service quality, and create an effective platform for entrepreneurs to work together.

The goal of Phase III is to create a powerful alliance of MSME business associations that will play an important role in shaping and implementing state policy for entrepreneurship development. This is another step towards strengthening the institutional capacity of business associations, developing partnerships, training leaders and implementing grant programmes to support sustainable initiatives.

Let’s develop entrepreneurship and build a strong economy in Ukraine together!
